Asia Catamarans at the 29th Bay Regatta

The 29th Bay Regatta is set to begin tomorrow — running 18–22 February 2026 — and once again this celebrated event will bring a fleet of boats and sailors together for four days of thrilling coastal racing and cruising around some of Southern Thailand’s most spectacular waters.

This annual regatta, a highlight of the Asian sailing calendar, blends competitive racing with a relaxed, social atmosphere, attracting seasoned sailors and cruising enthusiasts alike. Known for its stunning scenery and varied challenges from Phuket to Krabi, the Bay Regatta offers both exciting offshore legs and picturesque coastal sailing.

What Makes the Bay Regatta Special

The Bay Regatta is more than just a race — it’s a celebration of sailing and community spirit. Each year, around 30–40 yachts take part, navigating routes that showcase the spectacular natural beauty of the Andaman Sea while offering a welcoming environment for both seasoned racers and cruising sailors.

With a combination of competitive legs, social events, and coastal cruising that highlights Thailand’s iconic island scenery, the Bay Regatta has become a must-experience event for sailors in the region.

Performance Catamarans Set to Shine

What’s particularly exciting for performance multihull fans is the strong presence of Asia Catamarans in the OMR Multihull class, with three entries representing Stealth designs, in addition to the three Stealth catamarans competing in the OMR Multihull class — a testament to the performance and versatility of these modern catamarans.

Simon James Regatta’s Asia says, “It’s great to have 6 locally produced ‘Stealth’ Catamarans racing in the Bay Regatta this year. With 3 fully crewed boats competing in the Racing Division and 3 boats in full cruising mode with family and friends in the performance cruising division.
The great thing about the Bay Regatta is that all boats will start together and sail the same courses, so that the whole fleet from Asia Catamarans can see their performance against each other and challenge for the “Diggelmann Cup” Trophy”.
