Asia Catamaran Bliss 2

Bliss 2 sails to Hong Kong

With many thanks to the Owner of Bliss2, Mark Thorberrow, for this testimonial and details on the sail to Hong Kong.

The Customer’s Brief.

The brief I gave to Alan Carwardine and Roger Diggelmann was to build me the fastest 13.2 Stealth you can make.

I was involved in building the 2nd Balance 526, and had a lot of input, but every time I suggested anything to Alan, he had already tried it or had a better suggestion.

Alan and Roger Designed, raced, cruised, and built the Stealths. I don’t think any other designers/builders in the world have done so much. Asia Catamarans were already building the perfect Catamaran for me.

My wife Bolin and I wanted a cruising Catamaran for Hong Kong, that we could go out on for up to 5 days, and I wanted a Catamaran that would sail very well, even in light winds, the Stealth gives us this.

Bolin and I cruised Bliss 2 around Phuket for 14 days and really enjoyed it. We added air conditioning to the 2 cabins, which works very well.

Peter Warner built a simple, light, but very functional electrical system. Bliss 2 runs only on Solar, for House loads, Cooking, Air Con, Fridge, Freezer, etc. and Propulsion.

I can charge the propulsion batteries when not on board using the Victron app, so all batteries are full when we go cruising.

24-hour run covers 273 nm

We sailed Bliss 2 to Hong Kong in June/July 2025, 2,200nm, with stops in Malaysia and Indonesia, our best 24-hour run was 273 nm, and we were cruising with only 3 people, we all really enjoyed this sail.

I am hoping to do some racing in HK, including “Around HK Island” and the 4 other very popular pursuit races.

Bolin and I are both very happy with Bliss 2 and look forward to cruising her with our Granddaughters in the future.

Asia Catamarans would like to thank Mark for his testimonial.
